Emergency Commercial Drainage Clearance at Educational Facility

Our drainage team was called to an educational facility in Barnet after a blockage forced the closure of all toilets on one side of the building. We attended the same day to carry out an emergency response, identify the cause of the issue, and return the following day to complete a permanent solution.

The Challenge

Working within a live educational environment meant restoring essential facilities as quickly as possible while minimising disruption to staff and students. Clear communication with the client was key throughout the process, ensuring they were kept informed of our findings, the additional works required, and the expected timescales to safely return the drainage system to full operation.

Our Solution

During our initial visit, we cleared the immediate blockage using specialist mechanical equipment before carrying out a CCTV drain survey, which identified scale build-up, debris and foreign objects within the stack. Based on these findings, we returned the following day to carry out high-pressure drain jetting, thoroughly clearing the stack and restoring full flow to the drainage system. The site was left clean and tidy, with all waste responsibly disposed of. Thanks to our prompt response, detailed investigation and effective communication, the client was able to reinstate essential washroom facilities quickly, reducing disruption to the day-to-day operation of the school.
